Your eating, dressing and the company you keep all have 100% effect on your heart and mind.

What life?

What Life?

What life do they give us?

TV, junk food, drugs this western life gives us. This stupidity that you built a nice beautiful house but now what you must do, you must go spend three days in a jungle in a resort.
At home you have your paak bed, good food, halaal utensils not what wine and pork was eaten in etc.

What life do they give us? We fool ourselves all the time. How many people; in this December period; don't return home or don't even reach their destination?

They are fooling us and unfortunately, we cannot see it. Islaam gives us a life of dignity and honour.

True Thikr

True Thikr

This dunya faani--perishable world-  from all sides, only restlessness.
In the rememberance and obedience of Allah- the hearts find rest.

Not just five minutes Thikr and you have your peace, no, when you see a woman and you
(remember Allah) don't look- here's the peace.

If you did your Thikr and now you (forget Allah) looked at the woman, then you will destroy life. And if you go further then your marriage will even break up and you will lose your children. And if you have to die in this condition, then what!?!

Casting the evil gaze

Casting the evil gaze

When you look at the 'pari'- 'fairies' of this dunya, then your 'pareshaan'-'anxiety/depression' will only increase. The word 'pari' is in the word 'pareshaan' ((in the urdu language)).
Then you try to relieve yourself by holidays, going to resorts and you have to take sleeping tablets...

Western or Islamic lifestyle?

Western or Islamic Lifestyle?

Western lifestyle-- behind it all is just endless anxiety and worries, no peace of mind. Compare them to people living in a village - we think they are backward but they got no pressure and stress, living peacefully,
If you live a true Islamic life; you will have no worries like this.

For example: a woman's place is in the home- to see to the children and family.

She can do khidmat of Deen from her home but that too not at the cost of her family and children, even if she is an Aalima.

This is her true Islamic life, in this there is peace for her.

Fading...

Fading...

Like how the beauty of a flower fades away, so too does the beauty of a woman fade away. Give your youth in the path of Allah and do not waste it.
The more you destroy and waste your youth the earlier old age comes in, and you will then suffer the consequences. All the eating out and cosmetics- the natural beauty Allah gave you?!- you thought you were making your life but you were destroying it.

So let every soul see what he has sent forward for tomorrow for the Qabr, what will meet me there?

Living on a leaf¿

Living on a leaf¿¿¿

One example Moulana Rumi Rahmatullah alayh gave; an ant, a small insect; walks up on a grape vine, comes right till the top, whole life it stays on the leaves, you see holes also on the leaves, it's eating it, and whole life. Moulana say if that ant could find a Sheikh to tell it "you made lot of effort you, from the bottom you came till here, whole life you spending, you eating you living on the leaves, if you just went one centimeter higher and you got one drop of the grape juice, your Subhaanallah should come out from inside."
Just like that as a student you did alif, baa, taa, thaa you did..... you did naazara, you did Hifz, you did Qirat, you did adab, lughat, Aalim,
everything, you become an Aalim you are now giving fatwas, you're a Mufti, you are doing Qiraat, you are giving bayaans, you are living on the leaf. If you go just get that one centimeter up and you get Allah's muhabbat, Allah's Ma'rifat, your Subhaanallah will naturally come out from; Ma Sha Allah, now my efforts have realized the fruit for what I toiled so long. So in Sha Allah do that.

Understand Tasawwuf

Understand Tasawwuf

Moulana Thanwi Rahmatullah alayh said there isn't a single Aayat, a single Hadith in which there isn't Tasawwuf but He says people haven't understood Tasawwuf. What many people; even good, learned people understand Tasawwuf to be? Karaamat. What is karaamat? Honor, Allah gave you honor. But technically we say, karaamat, something out of the ordinary. Like if we have to hear somebody; there's some Buzurg and he flies in the air, all of us will say, "we must go make his ziyaarat, what a great Buzurg!" But the fly also flies in the air and nobody will say a fly is a big Buzurg and "Mr fly please I want to become Bay'at with you, you will give me Ma'rifat of Allah you will teach me, that you fly in the air, what a big Buzurg!" or a mosquito, hey, infact you kill the flies and mosquitoes and if karaamat is to walk on the water, then a fish swims in and how it swims also. So that is also nothing, if we hear some Buzurg is walking on the water, hey he's a great Buzurg man, but it's nothing that.

What is Tasawwuf? Moulana Thanwi Rahmatullah alayh said that Ma'loomat; what you know; Ma'loomaat, make it Ma'moolaat; practice on it. That is all what Tasawwuf is, that you have to practice on it.

To become a great Aalim

To Become a Great Aalim

Moulana Thanwi Rahmatullah alayh; what a great Aalim He became; when his friends asked him, that we studied together, same Kitaabs, same Ustaadhs, how come you excelled and went so far? He said, with Kitaabullah; I read kitaabs also; I stayed with Rijaalullah and I learned, I read kitaabullah and I took the knowledge from Rijaalullah; from their heart; that is the main knowledge, Kitaab is to help us but Ilm we take from them.

Grafting

Mango Grafting

As mentioned previously, we need to attach ourselves to the real Allah Waalas to become become an Allah Waala. This is similar to grafting: Let's take two mangoes; one small inferior quality mango and a nice good quality long green mango.

How to make the small mango valuable?

Graft it with the high quality mango by fastening the two branches tightly together, then see what you will get out of that.

Similarly we should fasten our weak hearts with someone who has a strong heart, very stiffly. Don't worry about comments, criticisms etc. Your heart and your Imaan will also become like the one you graft it to.
We need to graft our hearts; connect our hearts with one who has connected to Allah Ta'ala. Our weak hearts will become strong, {and we can graft our hearts even if we are far away too}.

Everything will change, like the mango, it is no more a weak mango, the price now is even different, the name of it has also changed and the taste too.

Become...

Become an Allah Waala

How to become an Allah Wala?

It comes in a Hadeeth {something to this effect} that for everything there is a mine, so what is the mine of Taqwa? The mine of Taqwa is the hearts of those who have found the Ma'rifat of Allah Jalla Jalaaluho {the Aarifeen}, those who have connected themselves with Allah Ta'ala and who have found who Allah Ta'ala really is. Just ponder, how Allah Ta'ala is giving Rozi (sustenance) to the whole world, how Allah Ta'ala is nourishing and sustaining everyone! Automatically You will fall head-over-heels in love with Allah Ta'ala. So what we need to do is associate with the true lovers of Allah Ta'ala and we will also get the Love.

The 'Ibrat

Spiritual Constipation
(Part 3)

The important thing for us now is 'ibrat, the point of lesson:

When the animals-fowls are given struggle and all Allah's Rahmat then stops coming on you; and this is the condition of treatment with animals; then those people who treat the creation of Allah-mankind{Muslim or even non-Muslim}, whether it's your worker or your wife {who is like a prisoner in your house, she's in your Nikaah and she can't run away if she wants to}, what will happen? or your parents especially when they are aged, they brought you up, they put you on your feet, they gave you your education, now they are old and you treat them in a bad way?!

This is the cause of our problems in many many cases; treating other creation of Allah in a bad way and thinking we are better, this is where our problems come. So we have to be very careful. We have to make Taubah and where possible go ask those people for maaf, and where not possible, give some Sadaqa and pass the Thawaab to them {even if they are non-Muslim, they will get the benefit in Dunya}.

When just for the fowls that was the condition, then for these people what will be the condition??? Take a lesson!

Be very very careful in this, it is very important that we have respect for the creation of Allah Ta'ala.

May Allah Ta'ala assisst us all, Aameen.

Spiritual Constipation (Part 2)

Spiritual Constipation

(Part 2)

So anyway, Moulana Thanwi Rahmatullah alayh turned to Allah Ta'ala and Allah put it in His heart; that His elder wife had told Him of some need of hers; that she was going so she needed Him to do some of Her work.

She told Moulana that when he gets up in the morning, before He goes to the Khanqah, then He must open the fowls in the fowl run and give them their food and water, then He can carry on. So Hadhrat Moulana forgot; the writer of thousand kitaabs; where He is going to remember to open fowls and feed them?

So immediateley as Moulana remembered this He left the Khanqah and went home; personally; He did not send anyone. Here is a very important point: with things like this; do it yourself.
So Moulana went to open the fowls who were very uneasy and constrained in their fowl run, they were thirsty and hungry too. How happy they got then. And immediately that spiritual constipation, lethargy, not feeling anything, not understanding anything, all that conditions went away, as soon as He did that.
And again from Allah's side the subject matter just started flowing like a waterfall.

Spiritual Constipation

Spiritual Constipation?

(Part 1)

Hadhrat Moulana daamat barakaatuhum mentions the following incident of Hadhrat Moulana Shah Ashraf Ali Thanwi Rahmatullah alayh:
Once Hadhrat Thanwi sat down to write replies to His letters, but he just couldn't, no answer was coming to His mind. Then Moulana wanted to write His Tafseer; Bayaanul Qur'aan. For that too, he remained blank; nothing was coming in His heart. Moulana just couldn't find anything to write.

So Hadhrat Thanwi became very emotional and stressed, experiencing spiritual constipation. No feeling; connection with Allah. So He turned to Allah Ta'ala; and He said (something to this effect): please whatever mistake I made, whatever shortage in anything, for what reason my heart's condition is not what it used to be, oh Allah give me a warning, where i've gone wrong and also make my Hidaayat.

Here we should take a lesson: when you find there is no connection with Allah Ta'ala and you don't feel in the mood to do 'Ibaadah, just want to lay around, or you not getting any enjoyment in your 'ibaadat, no enjoyment in Thikr then what you should do is turn to Allah Ta'ala. Fortunate is that person who when overcome by this condition; and it comes to everyone; he turns to Allah Ta'ala immediately.

Hadhrat Moulana Shah Hakeem Akhtar Rahmatullah alayh mentions a way of doing this (quoted from a Buzurg) it is to read "La ilaaha illa anta subhaanaka inni kuntu minathaalimeen" this is sufficient, otherwise if one can remember then the complete prescription is "Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyoom Ya laa ilaha illa anta subhaanaka inni kuntu minathaalimeen". This is really tauba and istighfaar, and it is this and Durood Shareef which will pull you out of this laziness, lethargy; spiritual constipation.

to be continued.....in sha Allahu Ta'ala....

Right of Rasoolullah salAllahu alayhi wasallam

A Great 'Ibaadat

One of the rights of Nabi-e-Kareem salAllahu alayhi wa sallam is Ziyaarat-e-Rasool (salAllahu alayhi wa sallam); which means to visit Nabi salAllahu alayhi wa sallam. We can travel the whole world, do everything, can't we make Ziyaarat of Nabi alayhi salaatu wassalaam?

At least once in a lifetime, one should go specially to visit our Nabi salAllahu alayhi wasallam. Not even with the intention of Umrah, but solely to visit Nabi salAllahu alayhi wa sallam; one may make Umrah by the way.

So to show your love, the Niyyat should be specifically to visit Nabi alayhis salaatu wassalaam. Imagine how happy would He (salAllahu alayhi wa sallam) get? that you came to meet and visit Him (salAllahu alayhi wasallam) specially. This Ziyaarat is a very great 'Ibaadat.
May Allah Ta'ala grant us all the Taufeeq, Aameen.

Springboard

Springboard

This special month of Rabi-ul-Awwal is the month wherein Rasoolullah salAllahu alayhi wa sallam was brought into this world. We usually spend this month in learning more about our Beloved Rasool salAllahu alayhi wasallam, which is good. However, it is important that it does not end here now, this should be the push-off; the springboard, so start from here and let it carry on right throughout our lives.
